Bhubaneswar: Three bike-borne miscreants snatched gold chain from a woman, who was out for a morning stroll in Jharpada area of Bhubaneswar.
The victim, Manorama Sahoo, was returning home early morning today when one of the accused, with his face covered, came from the rear and pushed her before snatching her gold chain. The miscreants also brandished sharp weapon to threaten her. The accused sped away after committing the crime.
Due to the confrontation with the snatchers, the woman fell on the road and also received minor injuries.
Local people helped her lodge a complaint with the police. Meanwhile, police have recovered the CCTV footages of the area for further investigation.
Frequent incidents of snatching have emerged as a major concern for city residents.
