Bhubaneswar: Alliance Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India is all set to commence daily direct flight operations from Bhubaneshwar to Varanasi and vice-versa from January 31.
This was informed Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Director VV.
This is an RCS route under the UDAN scheme of the Government of India. The airline has deployed its 70 seaters ATR 72 600 aircraft in this sector.
The flights are scheduled to depart from Bhubaneswar at 11.15 am and will arrive in Varanasi to 2.05 pm.
Similarly, the flights will leave Varanasi at 2.30 pm and land at Bhubaneswar airport at 4.20 pm.
The initial prices of the tickets are stated to be Rs 3,470.
The option of daily direct flights between the two destinations will reduce the travel time making it convenient for passengers, the official said. This flight will cater to the need for swift connectivity for tourists, students, business community and traders.
