New Delhi: Senior BJD leader Bhartruhari Mahtab conducted the proceedings of Lok Sabha on Thursday as the Speaker Om Birla expressed concern over pandemonium.
The Lok Sabha is in turmoil since March 2 over the issue of Delhi riots related to Citizenship Law. Birla has been trying his best to set the House in order, but ruckus continues over the issue.
Birla, after being disgusted with the unruly scenes in the House, requested the senior BJD leader Bhartruhari Mahtab to chair the proceedings. Reports said Birla summoned Mahtab to his chamber before the start of the session on Thursday and requested him to conduct the proceedings.
He even discussed with the BJD leader about the strategy to deal with the current crisis that is disrupting the proceedings of the House.
It is worth mentioning here that Mahtab had also conducted the proceedings of the House earlier successfully. Mahtab conducted the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha amid slogan shouting. He was seen admonishing the leader of the opposition Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury during the session. Mahtab later adjourned the House for some time.
