Hyderabad: The Union government has placed another order of 45 lakh doses of Covaxin of which 8 lakh of them to be shipped abroad.
Sources said the Bharat Biotech has secured a fresh Letter of Comfort from the Centre for another 45 lakh doses of coronavirus vaccines.
More than eight lakh will be shipped to Mauritius, Philippines and Myanmar free of cost.
Bharat Biotech shipped the first batch of vaccines (each vial containing 20 doses) to Gannavaram (Vijayawada), Guwahati, Patna, Delhi, Kurukshetra, Bangalore, Pune, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Chennai and Lucknow, the sources added.
Company sources said the supplies depend on the orders being placed by the government.
