Bhubaneswar: Farmer organisations in Odisha observed protests as part of observation of Bharat Bandh by Samyukt Kisan Morcha demanding repeal of three farm laws.
Several farmer organizations, political parties & trade unions have extended support to the bandh.
Educational institutions remained closed in several districts while public transport like bus and train services have been adversely affected due to the bandh.
The agitators including the workers of Congress and other Left parties staged road blockade at different places in Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Rourkela, Balasore, Bolangir and other districts in the State.
Besides, the protestors also staged a rail roko at Bhubaneswar railway station affecting rail services in the State capital.
Similarly, business establishments remained shut in many parts of the State. However, emergency services continue to remain unaffected.
Buses of Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) will not ply till 3 pm today across Odisha.
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), the umbrella union of the farmers who are protesting against these three laws for around 10 months, has called for a 10-hour Bharat Bandh tomorrow.
