Bhubaneswar: Roads wear a deserted look in several parts of Odisha as the farmers supported by different political parties began holding protests as part of Bharat Bandh against new farm laws enacted by the Centre.
Normal life has been affected in different parts of Odisha on Friday as the farmer outfits are observing a dawn-to-dusk Bharat Bandh.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a united front of farmer outfits in the country, has given this call protesting farm laws.
Public transportation services were affected as the protesters held picketing at the railway stations and bus stops.
Protestors were found blocking roads at several places in the State. Some of them were seen picketing in front of government offices, public places, market places and on major roads to make the bandh success.
All the left parties, Congress have supported the bandh to show solidarity to the farmer movement.
The Odisha government has announced that all the state schools and other educational institutions under the Skill Development and Technical Education Department to remain closed due to Bharat Bandh.
