Bhadrak: A cattle-laden pick-up van overturned on Bhadrak-Dhamnagar road near Bhandaripadi Chak in Bhadrak district following which at least 5 animals lost their lives.
According to sources, the mishap occurred while cattle were being transported, when the driver of the pick-up van lost control over the wheels following which the vehicle turned turtle killing five cattle on the spot.
On the other hand, 20 cattle have been rescued by the locals.
On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the van and started an investigation.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle fled the spot after the mishap.
