Bhadrak: Bike owner attracts hefty fine for allowing minor to ride his bike


Bhadrak: The transport department of Odisha has imposed a penalty of Rs 42,500 on the owner of a two-wheeler for allowing a minor boy to ride his motorbike.

The official said the boy was intercepted at Kanhara chhak in Bhandaripokhari area of Bhadrak district during a regular checking while he was riding the motorbike without a helmet.

Besides, he was also taking two more pillions with him and was riding on the wrong side of the road.

Upon enquiry, it was found that the boy also did not have a driving license and was riding the motorbike of another person, identified Narayan Behera of Nuapokhari area.

The challan was issued under various sections of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019.
