Berhampur: A complete shutdown will be clamped in Berhampur town for a period of four days. This was informed by Ganjam Collector, Vijaya Amruta Kulange.
In view of a spurt in COVID-19 cases in Ganjam district in last one week, the district administration took the crucial step of complete shutdown in Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area for four days starting from June 27.
Ganjam District Collector said after migrant returnees returned, more COVID-19 cases have been detected in the district. Especially the number of positive cases has increased in BeMC area in recent past, he informed.
The district administration decided to impose a shutdown from June 27 to 30 to carry out the door to door survey, he said.
To carry out active contact tracing, symptom checking, isolation and check the home quarantine status the district administration has to take strict action. Total 70 health teams have been set up to carry out the aforementioned activities. These teams will move from door-to-door in Berhampur city and check the health parameters of people.
