BDA Issues Notices To 13 Establishments In City For Charging Parking Fees


Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) today issued notices to as many as 13 establishments including three hospitals in the city for illegally charging parking fees from visitors.

As per reports, the establishments are Symphony Mall, The World, Forum Mart, Maruti Mall, Pal Mantra, Pantaloons Saheed Nagar, Bhawani Commercial Enclave, Esplanade One, DN Regalia, Central, Apollo Hospital, Kalinga Hospital and Care Hospital.

According to sources, BDA has directed these malls/hospitals to stop collecting off-street parking fee. The concerned organisation has also been asked to report compliance within 7 days, failing which action will be taken against them.

It may be noted that earlier, on  October 17, the BDA had directed different establishments such as commercial buildings, shopping malls, multiplexes, hospitals, apartments and housing projects not to collect fees from visitors for off-street parking on their premises.

Besides, Housing and Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena said that special squads will be formed to curb illegal parking in shopping malls and roads in the city.
