Bargarh: At least three persons, who were involved in a major loot case, were nabbed by Bargarh police today. The accused person has been identified as Vikash Matari (27) of Saharapada, Ashok Rana (34), and Sushanta Bhue.
According to available information, the trio has been held in connection with theft over Rs 19 lakhs and gold ornaments from a house in ward no- 5 reported on January 12.
According to available information, the incident occurred while one Ankit Rekhani, a residence of ward No-5 was out for business and his mother was alone at home when the three miscreants sneaked into the house and looted cash Rs 19.7 lakh and jewellery on the knifepoint.
Following this, Ankit had lodged a complaint in the Bargarh police station.
On the basis of the complaint, a special squad was formed which is led by IIC Sadananda Pujari with SI Sanaya Nayak, SI Soumykanta Baliarsingh, and eight others of Town PS under the direct supervision of Bargarh SP.
After persistent efforts, on Friday police managed to nab the three accused persons. On being question, the accused confessed their crime. The cops have recovered Rs 18, 24,000 cash, and almost all the diamond, gold, silver, and other jewellery robbed by the culprits. They have also seized a knife, two mobile phones, two know of masks, and one HF deluxe M/C bearing redg no- OD-17G-3873 from their possession.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC and the accused persons have been forwarded to the court.
