Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday reviewed the construction work of Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) located at Baramunda here and announced that the project is expected to be completed in 18 months.
Estimated to cost around Rs 180 crore, the project will be a new landmark in Bhubaneswar, said the Odisha CM.
The terminal will come up in an area of 1,31,713 sq.ft with 1,70,912 sq.ft of commercial space. It will have 35 bus bays with idle parking space for 190 buses. It will also have a public parking space for more than 250 four-wheelers and around 175 two-wheelers.
Earlier in 2019, the State Cabinet had approved the tender for development for the ISBT at Baramunda and for a bus depot at Khandagiri in the city for shifting of the present OSRTC bus depot from Baramunda.
The State government has assigned the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) for the development of the project while the Bridge and Roof Company India Ltd, a central PSU has been engaged for the implementation of the project.
