Bhubaneswar: In a major development to the sex racket involving Bangladeshi girls, police have apprehended another accused for his alleged involvement in the illicit trade. The accused has been identified as Prasant Parida.
According to preliminary reports, Prasant was involved in bringing girls from Bangladesh and providing them with fake identities before pushing them into flesh trade.
Intensifying the investigation into the case, cops nabbed Prasant from Laxmisagar area today. Police are currently grilling Prasant to extract information regarding the trade and its link.
Earlier on Tuesday, Special Task Force of Odisha Crime Branch arrested two masterminds of a sex racket, involving Bangladeshi girls, from Danagoiri area of Pipili in Puri district.
The arrested masterminds have been identified as Sk Ibrahim and his wife Anjali Bibi. The police also rescued six Bangladeshi girls from a rented house in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar.
