Puri: Ahead of Bahuda Yatra (return journey of Lord Jagannath and his siblings) on Tuesday, prohibitory order under Section 144 will be clamped in Puri Town tonight.
The district administration and police have geared up to ensure smooth and incident-free conduct of the Bahuda Yatra.
Shutdown with curfew has been imposed in Puri town from 8 PM of 19th July to 8 PM of 21st July. Like Ratha Jatra, no one will be allowed to witness the return journey of Holy Trinity from the rooftops, Collector Samarth Verma said.
As many as 20 special police squads will be deployed to impose strict shutdown during Bahuda Yatra, sources said.
The movement of those living in the hotels at the sea beach will be tracked, the police said and appealed people to cooperate.
