Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police on Sunday arrested a person from Nayagarh on charges of buying a child. The arrested was identified as Srinivas Jena.
Nayapalli police have arrested the Jena, who had allegedly bought the child at Rs 50000 from his father. Besides, the baby boy has been rescued.
As per police, the child’s mother had lodged a complaint with the police two years ago alleging that her husband sold their baby boy on the pretext of getting him administered polio vaccine.
Reportedly, the police have intensified raids at several places to nab the accused father, Tapan Palai.
