AYUSH ministry recommends immunity boosting tips to fight coronavirus

New Delhi: The ministry of AYUSH has recommended Ayurvedic  preventive healthcare measures for boosting immunity system during Covid -19 crisis.

Ayurveda has the immunity boosting measure which can help the people during COVID 19 crisis in the country and world over.

It has the power to enhance body’s natural defence system (immunity) that plays an important role in maintaining optimum health.

Ayurveda’s basic principle rest on “Dinacharya” – daily regimes and “Ritucharya” – seasonal regimes to maintain healthy life.

The Ayush ministry has issued guidelines for the people to drink warm water throughout the day.

It has recommended regular practice of Yogasana, Pranayama and meditation for at least 30 minutes. Spices like turmeric, Cumin, Coriander and Garlic are recommended in cooking.

The ministry has also recommended to take Chyavanprash in the morning. Diabetics should take sugar free Chyavanprash.

Nasal application:  Apply sesame oil / coconut oil or Ghee in both the nostrils in morning and evening.

Dry cough / sore throat:

Steam inhalation with fresh Pudina (Mint) leaves or Ajwain (Caraway seeds) can be practiced once in a day.

Lavang (Clove) powder mixed with natural sugar / honey can be taken 2-3 times a day in case of cough or throat irritation.

These measures generally treat normal dry cough and sore throat. However, it is best to consult doctors if these symptoms persist.
