Keonjhar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly attempted to attack Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Niranjan Patnaik in Keonjhar during his visit to the district on Sunday.
According to reports, the five persons, who were travelling in an SUV, intercepted the Patnaik’s vehicle near Jagannathpur chhak and tried to vandalise the car.
However, Patnaik’s security personnel and driver alighted from the car and tried to stop them. But they were thrashed by the unknown men who were in an inebriated condition.
Following the incident, PCC president Niranjan Patnaik himself reached Keonjhar Town Police Station and lodged an FIR. Scores of Patnaik’s followers also reached the police station and demanded arrest of the accused persons.
