Asst Veterinary Surgeon Apprehended By Vigilance While Accepting Rs 20,000 Bribe

Nuapada: Vigilance sleuths on Saturday arrested an assistant veterinary surgeon working at Sinapalli Veterinary Dispensary in the district for accepting bribe to release hire charges of vehicle engaged for official purpose in his favour.

Bibhu Prada Dhal landed in the vigilance net while accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs. 20,000, a communication issued by vigilance stated.

Based on a complaint, a trap was laid, wherein the accused was caught by the team of anti-graft officials at his rented house at Bahalpada chowk in Sinapalli while accepting the amount.

The bribe money was recovered from his possession and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as pant pocket wash of Dhal gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him, the vigilance said.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches were launched on the rented residential house of the accused at Bahalpada in Nuapada and house at Kolanagiri under Balichandrapur in Jajpur.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance division has registered a case and launched investigation.
