Bhubaneswar: Odisha assembly unanimously passed a resolution urging Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to successfully conduct the forthcoming 2023 Men’s Hockey World Cup.
The resolution moved by Congress leader Narasingha Mishra on Thursday lauded the state government’s effort for successfully organising the 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup in November which drew accolades from the world over. Mishra thanked the Chief Minister and the State government for the grand success of the event.
Odisha has again been entrusted with the responsibility of organising the sporting extravaganza in 2023 and it is a matter of pride for the people of Odisha and the government, the resolution said.
The resolution said each and every Odia is honoured to have the privilege to conduct the sporting event in the state capital and thanked Patnaik and his government for the unique effort to organize such a mammoth sporting event in 2023.
The resolution urged the people to work tirelessly for the success of the forthcoming 2023 Men’s Hockey World Cup and put Odisha in place of pride in the world.
Those who participated in the discussion in the assembly were BJP members Bishnu Sethi, Kusum Tete, Leader of OppositionPradipta Nayak, Congress’ Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Suresh Routray, and BJD members Amar Satpathy, Debi Mishra, Prasant Muduli, Rohit Pujari, and Anant Jena.
