Asian Games 2018: Shardul Vihan bags silver in Men’s Double Trap event


Jakarta: The 15-year old Indian shooter Shardul Vihan won silver in Men’s Double Trap event at the 18th Asian Games here on Thursday. This took India’s medal tally to 17 at the Asiad.

This is India’s fourth silver at shooting in these games.

Shardul lost from Korea’s Shin Hyunwoo who secured a total of 74 points. The Indian shooter came close to winning a gold with a total of 73 points, hence settled for silver. Qatar’s Al Marri Hamad Ali bagged the bronze after a score of 53 at Jakabaring shooting Range.

Shardul missed for the first time in the finals during his 11th shot after a strong start. Later in the final 20 shots, Shin took the game with a lead which eventually won Shin a gold.
