New Delhi: The health condition of veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former finance minister Arun Jaitley is critical and he has been put on life support.
Jaitley has been put on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO, said hospital sources.
A multidisciplinary team of doctors is monitoring his condition. However, AIIMS has not released any medical bulletin on his health condition since August 10. Jaitley was admitted on August 9.
Several leaders including Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, BJP’s Satish Upadhyay, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa, BSP chief Mayawati, and Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik visited the hospital to enquire about Jaitley’s health.
The 66-year-old was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on August 9 after he had complained of restlessness and breathing problems. A multidisciplinary team of doctors at AIIMS has been appointed to supervise his treatment.
