Cuttack: Ollywood actor and Kendrapada MP Anubhav Mohanty and his wife Varsha Priyadarshini appeared in a family court in Cuttack on Friday over their marital discord.
However, the court rejected the plea which was filed by Anubhav seeking ex parte decree on his divorce petition for dissolution of his marriage with Varsha. Meanwhile, the court has fixed another date i.e, July 14.
Earlier, one of them frequently skipped the court appearance but today both remained present and were counselled by the counselling officer for about two hours.
As per the legal procedure, both will appear and get counselled again so that the divorce can be avoided. If conciliation fails, the court will go ahead with the divorce case.
Notably, the marital discord between Anubhav and Varsha came to the fore after a local court in Cuttack listed Varsha’s petition of domestic violence against her actor-turned-politician husband for September 7.
Varsha had filed a complaint with the Purighat police and also alleged that Anubhav is a habitual drunkard and accused him of having multiple affairs.
On other hand, Anubhav also alleged that his wife was not allowing sexual relations and natural conjugal life and he was disappointed after making serious attempts to establish physical intimacy with Varsha.
