Another low pressure over BoB in 72 hrs: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said that another low pressure is most likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal coast in the next 72 hours which could trigger rainfall across coastal and north Odisha.

The Regional Meteorological Centre predicts heavy rainfall in Puri, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda districts in the next 24 hours.

The IMD said that unlike previous low pressures, the intensity and influence of the one to be formed on August 26 would be comparatively less.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast during the period.
