Another Low Pressure Likely To Form Tomorrow, To Bring Rainfall To Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation over Myanmar coast and adjoining Gulf of Martaban is likely to move northwestwards and emerge into northeast and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal.

Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region around September 24 evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed.

The system is likely to move west-northwestwards towards Odisha coast during the subsequent 48 hours, it said.

A Met official said the system would reach the northwest Bay by the evening of Friday, at least 12 hours before the expected arrival.

The system has prompted the IMD to issue an ‘enhanced rainfall alert’ for south Bengal on September 26 and 27.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

0830 hrs IST of 26.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.09.2021: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and Ganjam.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Gajapati.
