Andhra Announces Kotia Panchayat Poll Results Amid Border Dispute With Odisha


Kotia: Andhra Pradesh reportedly announced the results of elections in the disputed Kotia region of Odisha amid the ongoing tussle between the two states.

Yuvajana Sramika Rythu (YSR) Congress Party’s candidate Maji Appalamma secured victory in the rural elections in Ganjeipadar panchayat defeating the nearest contestant of the left party by 41 votes.

YSR Congress Party candidates have also bagged thumping victories in the elections conducted in Phaguna Sineri and Phhatu Sineri gram panchayats.

On April 8, the Andhra government had conducted the elections after changing the names of Ganjeipadar, Phaguna Sineri and Phaatu Sineri.
