Pune: The health condition of veteran actor-director Amol Palekar, who has been admitted to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune due to prolonged illness, is better than before. His wife Sandhya Gokhale shared his health update today.
Sharing his health update, his wife Sandhya Gokhale told ABP Live, “There is nothing to worry about Amol Palekar’s health. He is recovering and his condition is better than before.”
Further revealing about the cause of hospitalisation, she said, “This is an old illness. Due to excessive smoking, he was admitted to the hospital 10 years ago as well. But his condition is fine.”
Bollywood’s Everyman of the 1970s, Amol Palekar started his acting career with the Marathi film Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe’ in 1971. After this, his Bollywood journey started with Basu Bhattacharya’s ‘Rajnigandha’ opposite Rakhee in 1974. Palekar is well known for Hindi classics such as ‘Rajnigandha’, ‘Chitchor’, ‘Gol Maal’, ‘Shriman Shrimati’, and ‘Chhoti Si Baat’.
