Amit Dhala murder case: Jharsuguda police get Sonu Ghosh’s transit remand


Jharsuguda: Kamlesh Ghosh alias Sonu (38), who was arrested in connection with the murder of Amit Dhala in Brajarajnagar area here, was brought on transit remand from Kolkata today.

Jharsuguda police brought the accused on transit remand for further questioning in connection with the murder case and produced him in the sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) court in the evening.

The dreaded criminal who was wanted in the murder of Amit Dhala was arrested from West Bengal on July 26. The police had produced him before Sialda SDJM court and sought his transit remand. Following the approval of the court, he was brought to Jharsuguda.

More than 35 criminal cases are pending against Sonu, the police said.

Earlier, six persons including the mastermind behind the murder were arrested. Santosh Biswal alias Jitu who was the mastermind of the crime was arrested on July 11.

According to sources, miscreants had opened fire at Dhala near Brajarajnagar old bus stand on June 24. He sustained bullet injuries on his chest and stomach and succumbed at the hospital.

During the investigation, Brajrajnagar Police came to know that the murder was a fallout of past enmity between two gangs of anti-social headed by Amit and Jitu.
