Jharsuguda: Police today cracked the murder case of Amit Dhala by arresting four persons in this connection while seizing arms and ammunition from them.
The arrested persons were identified as Bulu alias Sandip Kumar Singh@ (25), Yadav alias Okil Ray (22), Gurmeet alias Ramesh Paikray (30) and Md. Shahbaz (28). Four country-made pistols, 20 rounds of live ammunition and bikes from their possession.
According to press note, miscreants opened fire at one Amit Dhala near Brajarajnagar private bus stand while he was playing cards with his friends. Amit, who sustained fatal bullet injuries on his chest stomach and back, succumbed to injuries at the hospital on June 24. Based on a complaint lodged by Amit’s relative with Brajrajnagar Police, a case (139/19) was registered and a probe launched.
During the investigation, Brajrajnagar Police came to know about the actual cause behind the killing which was a fall out of past enmity between two gangs of anti-social headed by Amit Dhala (Deceased) and Jitu alias Santosh Biswal.
Police said that a follower of Jitu Biwal was assaulted by the follower of Amit at Samleswari mines 15 days ago but no complaints were made at the police station regarding the incident. Jitu who came to know about the incident from his followers got eventually irked and was searching an opportunity to take revenge. Following this, Jitu procured five guns and 32-35 bullets and hatched a plan to murder Amit.
On June 24 at around 8 pm, Jitu’s followers- Bulu and Gurmeet reached the office of Dhala Brothers situated near the Brajarajnagar private bus stand on a motorcycle and opened five rounds of bullet at Amit who was playing cards with his friends.
Amit sustained critical injuries in the firing and was initially rushed to the Central Hospital Mandalia and later shifted to VSS Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the press note further stated.
This eventually sparked tension in the area as supporters of Amit Dhala created law and order situation demanding immediate arrest of the persons involved. After apprehension of four miscreants along with their arms and ammunition the situation has subsided, the police said
Involvement of other miscreants involved is yet to be ascertained as the case is still under the investigation, the police said and added that all the arrested accused will be forwarded to the court today.
