Bheden: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday nabbed an Amin posted at the Tehsil office in Bheden while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000. The accused has been identified as Lalita Kumar Meher.
According to sources, Meher demanded the bribe from the complainant regarding a file containing application along with other relevant documents for the demarcation of the land of the complainant.
With no other options left, the victim lodged a complaint with the vigilance department. Acting on the complaint, the vigilance officials kept a close vigil on the accused, when the complainant approached the Amin to hand over the gratification of Rs 2000. Meher initially kept the money on the table and later covered it with the tablecloth.
Officials immediately apprehended him during the act and seized the bribe amount. Following this, a raid was also conducted at the accused Amin’s house in Ramanda village.
Reportedly, the accused Amin has been forwarded to court, sources said.
