Bhubaneswar: The almanac is the embodiment of culture, tradition and a chronology of important events including 12 festivals.
Participating on a deliberation on 43rd Culture Talk which was organized at State Archives on Saturday through internet the speakers conveyed the above mentioned views.
Speaking on the occasion renowned researcher Prof Raj Kishore Mishra said the almanac is the only document which gives us detailed information of terrestrial happenings and solar and lunar eclipses as well as on horoscope of human beings and countries.
Principal secretary Manoranjan Panigrahi said Odisha is the land of Lord Jagannath and the prominent almanac which is brought out by Kohinoor press.
Director cum additional secretary Bijay Kumar Nayak said the almanac is deeply related to the culture and religious tradition of the state. Nayak said the almanac gives us the true picture of the unfolding events related to our culture and festivals.
Dr Sheikh Soleman Ali of the State Archives proposed the vote of thanks.
