Bhubaneswar: The newly sworn-in BJP government in Odisha, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, held its first Cabinet and Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday.
The government has made four significant decisions, including the opening of the four doors of the Srimandir and building a corpus fund of Rs. 500 crore for the temple’s management.
In the meeting held at Lok Sabha Bhawan, CM Majhi announced the decision to open the four doors of Mahaprabhu Sri Jagannath Temple. This move is aimed at ensuring a smooth darshan for all devotees, removing any barriers between them and the deity.
Additionally, the government has proposed the creation of a corpus fund for the upkeep, beautification and repairs of the temple addressing the concerns of the devotees. The fund will be provisioned with Rs. 500 crore in the budget and can be utilised in case of any unanticipated issues.
Notably, the four doors of the temple will be opened in the presence of the state cabinet members during the Mangal Arati of Sri Jagannath on Thursday.
