Kolkata: CPI-ML (Red Star) leader Alik Chakraborty was granted bail by Baruipur District Court in West Bengal on Tuesday. He will walk out of jail soon.
Alik, the leader of the Bhangar People’s Movement, has been granted bail in 34 cases. However, a case is still pending against him in connection with sedition and vandalism of government property.
The Naxal leader, who had been suffering from liver ailment, was arrested from Kalinga Hospital in Bhubaneswar by the Special Task Force of Kolkata police with the help Odisha’s Commissionerate police on May 31.
