New Delhi: Alia Bhatt’s much-awaited film Gangubai Kathiawadi will hit the big screen on July 30, 2021. Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the teaser will be unveiled today.
Alia Bhatt also took to Instagram and wrote: “In cinemas July 30, 2021”.
The film is based on the life of Gangubai Kathiawadi, who was a sex worker but later emerged as an underworld don in Mumbai.
The movie comprises a story adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’.
Gangubai Kathiawadi also features Ajay Devgn, who plays the role of a mobster. He eventually falls in love with Gangubai while teaching her the tricks of the trade.
Alia Bhatt shared her first look posters as Gangubai Kathiawadi on social media on January 15 last year.
