Noida: Schools from class 1 to 8 in Noida area here will reopen from Wednesday. The decision is taken by the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration as the Air Quality Index, AQI is improving in Delhi-NCR regions.
The District Magistrate in his order has given strict instructions to the officers to control pollution.
On Sunday, under the chairmanship of Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate, a meeting was held with all the district level officers for effective control of air pollution in the city.
The District Magistrate instructed everyone that compliance of the instructions of CAQM should be ensured. He said that stage 4 of GRAP has been removed. Thereafter, all the provisions and restrictions applicable in GRAP 3 should be kept in force on the ground.
Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has continued the ban on construction and demolition for now and a decision on the same will be taken soon. DM has instructed the Traffic officials to keep a check on vehicles and only allow vehicles with BS 6 engines on road. Other methods to curb pollution including mechanical sweeping, water sprinkling, and road washing among others should continue and the administration must regularly invigilate the ground situation.
Schools in Noida and Greater Noida were shifted to online mode as AQI crossed 400 and the administration implemented Grade 4 norms to curb pollution. Noida’s AQI is recorded at ‘Very poor’.
On the other hand, Delhi Schools are shut for primary classes till the air quality improves.
