Muzaffarpur/Patna: The encephalitis death toll has risen to 84 in Bihar on Sunday. The state continues to grapple with the deadly disease and heat wave condition.
With three more deaths from Muzaffarpur, the death toll in the district has gone up to 84.
Sunil Kumar Shahi, Superintendent at the government hospital Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), said three more deaths due to Encephalitis Syndrome in the hospital has increased the toll.
Doctors blamed the present heat wave condition to aggravate AES. Bihar is currently reeling under scorching heat that has claimed the lives of least 25 people.
The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has arrived in the state capital on Sunday to review public health measures for containment and management of the AES.
