Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has formed a high-level advisory committee comprising eminent medical experts to suggest measures to tackle the possible third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The State Health & Family Welfare Department on Sunday issued an official regarding the formation of a high-level advisory committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. Srinath Reddy with the following members:-
- Dr.Devi Shetty, Chairman Narayan Hrudayalaya Health Group, Bangalore
- Dr. Ramakanta Panda, Director Asian Heart Institute. Mumbai
- Dr. Subrat Acharya, Pro-Chancellor, KIIT Deemed University, Bhubaneswar
- Dr. Lalit Kant, Dy Director General, ICMR
- Dr. Mrudula Phadke
- Dr CBK Mohanty, DMET(0)- CONVENER
- Prof. Dutteswar Hota. Principal & Dean, SCB Medical College
- Prof M R Pattnaik, HOD, Pulmonary Medicine, SCB Medical College

The State Government as a strategic policy initiative has decided to vaccinate the population within the age group of 18 yrs to 44 yrs free of cost. As a sequel to this, Global Tender has been floated for procurement of required vaccines from the open market.
For smooth and successful implementation of this policy initiatives, the Government has constituted the Advisory Committee to guide In Vaccination programme and strategies to deal with the future waves of the COVID-19 pandemic.
