Balasore: Bhograi Additional Tehsildar Santosh Panigrahi was attacked by a group of miscreants in Kamarda area of Odisha’s Balasore district last night.
According to sources, the official intercepted a truck on the suspicion of illegal sand mining and questioned the driver and helper of the vehicle.
However, later while returning from visiting flood-affected areas of the district 10-15 youths attacked the additional tehsildar and looted the gold chain, mobile phone, and money from his possession.
Locals rescued Panigrahi and handed the driver-helper duo over to police.
