Indore: The Indore police have registered a case against television actress Munmun Dutta for allegedly using an objectionable word against a Scheduled Caste community.

Reportedly, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Munmun made use of an objectionable word in a now-deleted video on YouTube, which didn’t go down well with many.

Following this, one Akhil Bharatiya Balai Mahasangh president Manoj Parmar lodged a complaint with the Indore police station. Parmar claimed in his complaint that the ‘racist’ word used by Munmun in her video has hurt the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community, primarily the Valmiki community.

Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and booked her under relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
