Action Mode On! Two More Under Vigilance Scanner, Gold Biscuit Found

Bolangir: A WESCO accountant, Bibhuti Sankar Bindhani, came under the scanner of the Vigilance sleuths after the latter conducted a raid at his residence and recovered Rs 16 lakh cash and a gold biscuit.

The raids and calculation of the total value of his movable and immovable assets are underway.

Meanwhile, upon being questioned about the huge amount of cash, Bibhuti said that nearly Rs 14 lakh of the amount belonged to his sister-in-law. He also refuted all the allegations and claimed that he does not possess assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Vigilance sleuths also conducted raids on a retired driver, Ramesh Chandra Panda, who was posted at Indrabati Water Project in Kalahandi, over charges regarding possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The searches were led by Malkangiri SP Sushant Kumar Biswal. Searches were carried out at several places including Ramesh’s residence in Dharmagarh.
