Bhubaneswar: The House Committee, which is probing the alleged breach of privilege and anti-Odisha remarks made by Abhijit Iyer Mitra, will place its report before the Odisha Assembly tomorrow.
In a statement to the media, House Committee chairman and Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra said, “The panel has examined Mitra against his breach of privilege and the report is ready to be placed before the Odisha Assembly on the inaugural day of Winter Session.”
Mishra said, “The House Committee had six sittings and the case report comprises the statements recorded and deposition by all the persons related to the case.”
Notably, Mitra was arrested by the Commissionerate Police soon after his appearance before the House panel on October 23.
He was produced before the court of the SDJM, Bhubaneswar and was sent on 14-days judicial custody. Later, the court extended his remand by another 14 days. Presently, Abhijit is lodged at Jharpada Jail in Bhubaneswar.
