Aahar scheme to resume in Bhubaneswar from May 15: BMC

Bhubaneswar: While the capital city is limping back to normalcy after destruction by Fani, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to reopen the Aahaar centres in the city from Wednesday.

The move was taken after assessing the extent of the damage endured by the central kitchen at Bamphakuda near Nakhara and the Aahar centres under the BMC.

While the Aahar kitchens were damaged due to the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani, that hit Odisha on May 3, the damages were repaired following which the meal scheme will be served from Wednesday.

Aahar Yojana provides cooked rice and dalma at Rs 5 in the urban areas of the state.
