Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced the increase in pension for construction workers.
According to the Chief Minister’s announcement, the pension amount of the construction workers registered under the ‘Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board’ has been increased. All of them are benefiting from Nirman Shramik Pension Yojana.
According to this new decision, construction workers who have crossed the age of 60 years will now get a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 instead of Rs 500. Similarly, construction workers above 80 years of age will get Rs 1200 instead of Rs 700.
This new pension will be implemented from the month of February 2024. The necessary expenses in this regard will be borne by the Odisha Construction and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
