Rayagada: At least 70 inmates and 5 employees of Gunupur sub-jail have tested positive for COVID19. All the positives are asymptomatic and stable now.
According to reports, the swab samples of 113 inmates and all jail staff were taken for COVID test. Out of them, 70 inmates and five staff tested positive for the deadly virus.
Reportedly, they have been kept in isolation in the jail and the infected jail staff are in home isolation. However, if any medical emergency arises, they will be immediately shifted to the nearby designated Covid hospital.
Meanwhile, the entire jail has been sanitized and the contact tracing of the infected inmates and staff is underway, said sources.
