Keonjhar: A 6-ft long python was rescued by the forest department officials here after it was found trapped in fishing net at Erendei village under Patna forest range in Keonjhar district today.
According to sources, the python got trapped while a fisherman was fishing in the Baitarani river at Erendei village. The matter was alerted to the forest officials, who then along with a snake catcher reached the spot and rescued the snake.
The snake was later released to nearby forest, sources added.
