Bhubaneswar: The three-day largest IT Convention of Odisha – 53rd CSI Annual Convention 2020 held in KIIT Bhubaneswar concluded with a sense of grandeur.
The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Chief Speaker Dr. Achuyta Samanta, MP, Founder KIIT & KISS along with Chief Guest Mr. Justice Sanjay K Mishra, Judge, Orissa High Court, Guest of Honour Prof Mike Hinchy, President, IFIP, Dr. Gulsan Rai, Cyber Security Adviser, PMO-Chief Speaker Prof. KK Aggarwal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation and other CSI officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Justice Sanjay K Mishra, Judge, Orissa High Court, said, “It a privilege to address the CSI convention which is the largest convention of IT in Bhubaneswar.” “Talking of the present scenario, the greatest challenge we are facing today is cybercrime and it’s you people (the IT professional and students) who are going to find out the solution and prevent it.”
The ceremony was later followed by a Vote of thanks where the restless efforts of CSI officials including Manas Ranjan Patnaik, Convenor CSI 2020, Dr. R N Behera Chairman Industry Committee, Prof. PK Behera, Program Committee, Rajesh Ranjan Acharya, Convenor Award Committee and Mr. Chakradhar Panda, Chairman Portal Committee and the volunteers were given special thanks for their effort in making the giant convention a successful one.
The largest IT convention of Odisha which was held for the first time in the state witnessed the participation of thousands of computer professionals and students from all over the nation. The convention provided a platform for the participants to share their views and ideas on the various aspects of the theme – ‘Digital Democracy- IT for Change’ in the present scenario.
The first day of the giant convention included brainstorming technical sessions on the Future of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Robotics, Social Computing, Machine Learning & On-line Social Media, Entrepreneurship Development, Implementation of AI Robotics in Industry and Startups by many eminent personalities of the industry.
Apart from the sessions and conferences, the three days program further had Award Ceremony on the basis of CSI e-Ratna Award, Life Time Awards, Hon Fellow & Fellow Awards, SIG CSI e-governance Awards followed by startup meet, and cultural meets. As part of it, this year on the occasion of its 53rd Edition, the Society Honored the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Sri. Naveen Patnaik with CSI E–Ratna Award on its second day.
The 2nd day also included technical sessions and seminars on theme Digital democracy & e-Democracy where different aspects of Digitization its impacts pros and cons in our lives etc were discussed with hundreds of delegated from different walks of life including industry experts, educationists, government officials, and students. The convention has exhibition stalls that showcase emerging products and services of the industry. The convention will also help to attract investors in the sector of IT.
Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India started in the year 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. The Annual Convention of CSI is the prestigious event of the Society being held every year since 1966 in different cities across India. The main features of the convention include technical sessions, tutorials, panel discussions, exhibitions, and awards ceremony.
