43 killed as bus falls into river in Himachal Pradesh


Shimla: In a tragic incident, at least 43 passengers were killed when a private bus plunged into Tons river in remote Nerwa area of Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday.

The bus was enroute through Himachal carrying 56 passengers.

The private bus was on its way to Tunni village in Shimla district, from Vikas Nagar in neighbouring state Uttarakhand, when it skidded off the road and fell into the Tons River. The accident occurred in Gumma area in Nerva tehsil.

However, it was not immediately clear what caused the accident, or whether any of the survivors were injured.
