3,309 Pucca Houses Allotted To Beneficiaries Under BPGY In Last 3 Yrs: Minister

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Pratap Jena on Tuesday informed the assembly that as many as 3309 pucca houses have been allotted to the beneficiaries under ‘Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BPGY) in the last three financial years.

The Minister informed this while replying to a written question of Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja in the state assembly.

The Minister said the houses were allocated during the fiscal year 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22.

He informed that the construction of 380 housing units under BPGY has been completed till March 22 this year while 2929 units are yet to be completed.

The remaining houses are targeted to be constructed in the financial year 2022-23, he said.

The highest number of 2020 housing units was allotted in Nuapada district followed by Mayurbhanj with 460 allotments and Balangir with 339 allotments in the last three years.

At the same time Cuttack, Kalahandi, Kendrapada, Nabarangpur and Puri received the least number of allotments with one housing unit in each district.

Other than that Bargarh received 60 allotments of rural housing units, Bhadrak received 36, Boudh 16, Keonjhar 88,  Koraput 170 and Malkangiri 108.
