New Delhi: The death toll in India due to the novel coronavirus pandemic has risen to 308, while the confirmed COVID-19 cases in India reached 9,152, the Union Health Ministry has said.
As many as 857 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far.
Meanwhile, 35 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Delhi have risen to 1,154, according to the latest update from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Of these, 27 patients have recovered. The death toll due to COVID-19 in the national capital stands at 24.
Confirmed cases in Maharashtra are nearing the 2,000 mark. According the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, Maharashtra has so far reported 1,985 positive cases.
The death toll in the state stands at 149. As many as 217 patients have recovered so far. Maharashtra has the highest number of cases in the country, a large part of those cases have been reported from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Confirmed cases in Tamil Nadu have crossed the 1,000-mark in Tamil Nadu, according to the Union Health Ministry. While 50 patients have recovered, the death toll in the state stands at 11.
Tamil Nadu has the highest number of cases in the country after Maharashtra and Delhi.
