3 terrorists killed in encounter in J&K’s Pulwama


Srinagar: Three terrorists were neutralised in a gunfight with the security forces that broke out at Panzgam village of Awantipora in Pulwama district of South Kashmir on Saturday.

The slain militants are believed to be a local resident belonging to the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit.

Acting on reliable inputs about the presence of the militants in the Panzgam village, troops of 130 Battalion CRPF, 55 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group (SOG) launched a cordon and search operation in the area at around 1 am.

During the search operation, the hidden militants fired indiscriminately. In retaliation, the security personnel gunned down three terrorists early this morning.

The bodies of the militants have been recovered along with the weapons, a police officer said.
