Perth: Virat Kohli and his co, bowled out the Australians with 243 on the fourth day of the second Test in Perth on Monday.
Resuming with 132 on day 4, the hosts bowled out of 243 runs, extending their lead to 233 runs in the second innings.
The Australians lost their last six wickets for 51 runs, despite a 36-run final-wicket stand between Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.
Usman Khawaja with a top score of 72 runs showed a great patience against the Indian pacers. The 31-year-old got to his 14th half-century off 155 balls.
On the other hand, it was a great time for Indian bowlers as Mohammed Shami claimed his career-best 6-56 to restrict the target to fewer than 300.
Skipper Virat Kohli and his team will now have to chase 287 runs to make another test to their name.
